The Author’s Journey

Durjoy Datta is an Indian bestselling writer, screenwriter, and storyteller who writes contemporary romance and youth fiction. Born 7 February 1987, in Mehsana, Gujarat, and brought up in New Delhi. In the capital city of India, Durjoy developed an interest in storytelling about love, friendship, and modern relationships. His early years in Delhi influenced the urban settings and characters of many of his novels.

Education

Durjoy attended the Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura and went ahead to study Mechanical Engineering at the Delhi Technological University. He joined the Management Development Institute (MDI), Gurgaon, later to complete his post-graduation, and also attended the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management in Germany.

Writing Career & Achievements

Durjoy was a marketing analyst before starting his writing career in 2011. Now is an author of several bestsellers, including Now That You're Rich!, She Broke Up, I Didn't!, You Were My Crush!, When Only Love Remains, Our Impossible Love, The Boy Who Loved, The Boy with a Broken Heart, and World’s Best Girlfriend. His books have found a great appeal among young readers throughout India.

He has also been a screenwriter on several successful television shows and streaming programs, including Sadda Haq – My Life, My Choice, Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi, and Never Kiss Your Best Friend. In 2017 and 2018, his novels Our Impossible Love and The Boy Who Loved, respectively, were the winners of the Crossword Book Award -Popular Choice and the Crossword Book Award.
